The Incomparable Christ
(author unknown)

Almost two thousand years ago there was a Man born contrary to the laws of life. This Man lived in poverty and was reared in obscurity. He did not travel extensively. Only once did He cross the boundary of the country in which He lived; that was during His childhood exile.

He possessed neither wealth nor influence. His relatives were inconspicuous, and had neither training nor formal education. In infancy He startled a king; in childhood He puzzled doctors; in manhood He ruled the course of nature, walked upon the billows as if pavement, and hushed the sea to sleep.

He healed the multitudes without medicine and made no charge for His service.

He never wrote a book, and yet all the libraries of the country could not hold the books that have been written about him.

He never wrote a song and yet He has furnished the theme for more than all the songwriters combined. He never founded a college, but all the schools put together cannot boast of having as many students. He never practiced medicine, and yet He has healed more broken hearts than all the doctors far and near.

Every seventh day the wheels of commerce cease their turning and multitudes wend their way to worshiping assemblies to pay homage and respect to Him.

The names of the past proud statesman of Greece and Rome have come and gone. The names of past scientists, philosophers, and theologians have come and gone; but the name of the Man abounds more and more. Though time has spread two thousand years between the people of this generation and the scene of His crucifixion, yet He still lives.

Herod could not destroy Him, and the grave could not hold Him.

He stands in heavenly glory, proclaimed of God, as the living, personal Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

FAITHFUL IS HE WHO HAS PROMISED

Are you passing through a testing.
Is your pillow wet with tears?
Do you wonder what the reason,
Why it seems God never hears?

Why it is you have no answer
To your oft--repeated plea,
Why the heaven still is leaden
As you wait on bended knee?

Do you wonder as you suffer,
Whether God does understand,
And if so, why He ignores you,
Fails to hold you in His Hand?

Do black doubts creep in, assail you,
Fears without--and fears within,
Till your brave heart almost falters
And gives way to deadly sin?

All God's testings have a purpose-
Someday you will see the light.
All He asks is that you trust Him,
Walk by faith and not by sight.

Do not fear when doubts beset you,
Just remember--He is near;
He will never, never leave you,
He will always, always hear.

Faithful is He who has promised,
He will never let you fall,
Daily will the strength be given
Strength for each and strength for all.

He will gladly share pain with you,
He will gladly give you peace.
Till your tired and weary body
Finds its blessed, glad release.

When the darkened veil is lifted,
Then, dear heart, you'll understand
Why it is you had to suffer,
Why you could not feel His hand

Giving strength when it was needed,
Giving power and peace within
Giving joy thru tears and trial,
Giving victory over sin.

So till then just keep on trusting,
Thru the sunshine and the rain,
Thru the tears and thru the heartaches,
Thru the smiles and thru the pain

Knowing that our Father watches,
Knowing daily strength He'll give,
Victory for each passing hour,
This is life, so let us live!

How's YOUR walk?

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4

Walkin' With Jesus

I'm walkin' with Jesus, each step of each day
He's beside me guides me so i won't go astray
I'm walkin' with Jesus and He's walking with me
Keepin' me now and through all eternity
I'm walkin' with Jesus through the valley and marsh
In His arms I'm safe from harm when conditions are harsh
I'm walkin' with Jesus through tears and through rain
Knowin' He's holdin' my hand through each pain.
I'm walkin' with Jesus, His footsteps are sure
His pathways are perfect, His protection secure

When i'm not walking He's carrying me
Faithful in my faithless infidelity
When i'm not walking He stays with me still
In my breach of contract His promises continuing to fulfill
When i'm not walking He patiently waits
He doesn't rebuke or belittle, debase or berate
When i'm not walking He doesn't let go
He woos me with the love that continues to flow
When i'm not walking He carries me instead
Never leaving or forsaking me, as He has said.

Please make it so that i can walk with you again.

Crucifixion
By Unknown

A medical doctor provides a physical description:

The cross is placed on the ground and the exhausted man is quickly thrown backwards with his shoulders against the wood. The legionnaire feels for the depression at the front of the wrist. He drives a heavy, square wrought iron nail through the wrist deep into the wood. Quickly he moves to the other side and repeats the action, being careful not to pull the arms too tightly, but to allow some flex and movement. The cross is then lifted into place. The left foot is press backward against the right foot, and with both feet extended, toes down, a nail is driven through the arch of each, leaving the knees flexed. The victim is now crucified. As he slowly sags down with more weight on the nails in the wrists, excruciating fiery pain shoots along the fingers and up the arms to explode in the brain- the nails in the wrists are putting pressure on the median nerves. As he pushes himself upward to avoid this stretching torment, he places the full weight on the nail through his feet. Again he feels the searing agony of the nail tearing through the nerves between the bones of his feet. As the arms fatigue, cramps sweep through his muscles, knotting them deep relentless, throbbing pain. With these cramps comes the inability to push himself upward to breathe. Air can be drawn into the lungs but not exhaled.

He fights to raise himself in order to get even one small breath. Finally, carbon dioxide builds up in the lungs and in the blood stream, and the cramps partially subsided. Spasmodically, he is able to push himself upward to exhale and bring in life-giving oxygen. Hours of limitless pain, cycles of twisting, joint wrenching cramps, intermittent partial asphyxiation, searing pain as tissue is torn from his lacerated back as he moves up and down against rough timber. Then another agony begins: a deep, crushing pain deep in the chest as the pericardium slowly fills with serum and begins to compress the heart. It is now almost over. The loss of tissue fluids has reached a critical level. The compressed heart is struggling to pump heavy, thick, sluggish blood into the tissues. The tortured lungs are making frantic effort to gasp in small gulps of air. He can feel the chill of death creeping through his tissues. Finally, he can allow his body to die... All this the Bible records with the simple words, "and they crucified Him" (Mark 15:24).

What wondrous love is this? Very few people know the pain and suffering our Lord, Jesus Christ went through for us. Because of the brutality, crucifixion was given as a sentence to only the worst offenders of the law. Thieves, murderers, and rapists would be the types of creeps who got crucified. Yet, here Jesus is being crucified between two hardened criminals...What did Jesus do? Did he murder anyone? Did he steal anything?

The answer as we all know is NO!! Jesus did nothing to deserve this type of death, yet he went willing to die, in between 2 thieves, to suffer and die for our sins so that we might be saved.

Hearts crushed,spirits deeply wounded,
the end result the same?
We distance ourselves from our God.
I'm beginning to see spiritually:
that my God is doing what He must,
in order to wash a soul.

His creation wallows in self-pity so much,
it's a wonder we don't implode.
Such an ungrateful people,
surely a challenge to His love.

Yet,He washes,and washes,
using pain, suffering, trials and tribulations,
and always the blood of His Son.

I watch Him move in the hearts of the wounded.
Healing, uplifting, changing them,
from downtrodden, to joyful.
From wondering why, or how they got
to where they are!

He shines His light on their darkness,
on their own self-imposed punshment,
Always,He stands waiting for our own understanding,
and smiles when we see it all.

He cleanses, sanctifies,c onsecrates again,
nudges us ever so gently,
back into His encircling arms.
Then we know where He's been,
right there with us all the time.

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient
for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory
in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may
rest upon me."
ll Corinthians 12:9

"Behold, I have refined thee, but not with
silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction."
Isaiah 48:10

"Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened,
that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it
cannot hear."

Thinking of... nothing much.

This is our duty.

The music is nice, and the lyrics are even nicer... but what matters most is the message.

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Matthew 25:23
His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

Keep walking in faith that Jesus Christ is Lord.

My best friend
Posted: Oct 20, 2003, 3:44 AM

On this person I can always depend
For you see, He is my very best friend

I've known him for a long while
Just the thought of him makes me smile

Several times a day a message to him i send
For you see, He is my very best friend

He isn't popular but I don't care
Just the mention of his name makes most people snare

It matters not to me their style or trend
For you see, He is my very best friend

Many times I've ignored his advice and disregarded his alarms
I always fall flat on my face and he's always there with wide open arms

Though i may stray from him, his love for me would never bend
For you see, He is my very best friend

He says he loves me so much and he would never lie
I know for a fact that for me he would even die

For me, his two hands and his feet he would lend
For you see, He is my very best friend

In my darkest hours, he wipes away my tears
When i'm afraid, he takes away my fears

In every storm of life, he settles the wind
For you see, He is my very best friend

I cannot survive without him, we cannot be apart
He gave his life for me, so I'll give him my heart

He's loved me since the beginning and He'll love me to the end
For you see, He will always be my very best friend.

When I say I'm a christian
By Unknown

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
I'm whispering "I was lost!"
That is why I chose this way."

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority.
I only know I'm loved.

The Master's Card
By Unknown
By now you have probably seen the catchy television commercials for Mastercard. They start by identifying some things that people can buy with their Mastercard, then show a moment that is priceless and end by saying, "There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's Mastercard."

For example, in one such commercial there is a man and his young son headed to the baseball park. The commercial shows the dad buying his son a hot dog and you hear the words, "Hot dog at the big league game...$3.00." The next scene shows the dad buying a game program and the words, "Program...$6.00." Then, one of those large, orange hands with the fingers forming a #1 is shown and you hear something like, "Large, orange hand...$15.00." The commercial finishes by showing the father explaining some important aspect of the game to his son, who is listening intently as he looks up at his father with excitement in his eyes, "Meaningful conversation between a father and a son...priceless."

"There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's Mastercard."

Friends, I'm not unlike those agencies promoting their favorite credit card. I'm here to advertise. You see, my life is a commercial for others to see. I'm a card carrying representative for the Master's Card.

That's right, the MASTER'S CARD. Let me tell you about it. There are no finance charges, no payments due. My bill has already been covered...it's a prepaid deal. I couldn't afford the price, so Jesus stepped in and paid it for me. My Name is written on the the card for all to see. It is accessible twenty-four hours a day from anywhere in the world. The MASTER'S CARD has so many benefits it's hard to list them all. Let me share some of them with you...you might want to apply for a personal card yourself.

Just for starters there is UNLIMITED GRACE. That's right, there is no pre-set limit to the amount of grace you receive from the MASTER'S CARD. Have you been looking for love in all the wrong places? Then, look no farther than the MASTER'S CARD. It offers the greatest rate on love that has ever been offered.

The MASTER'S CARD gives you access to many "members only" benefits. Want real joy despite the difficulties of life? Apply for the MASTER'S CARD. Want a lasting peace? Apply for the MASTER'S CARD. Looking for something you can always rely on in a jam? The MASTER'S CARD is perfect for you.

Another great thing about the MASTER'S CARD is that it never expires. Once you're a member, you can be a member for life...eternal life, that is.

Membership has its privileges, you know.

How do you receive the MASTER'S CARD. Dial 1-800-ROMANS10:9 "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Jesus is standing by right now to take your call.

Don't delay. This great offer won't last forever.

Peace, joy and hope: Invaluable.

Faith, contentment and assurance: Inestimable.

Salvation: Priceless.

There are some things money can buy. For everything else, there's the Master's Card.

Christian, why not be an advertisement for the MASTER'S CARD. Let your life be a commercial today for Jesus Christ.

They're After Our Children

Read: Proverbs 3:1-18

She is more precious than rubies, and all the things you may desire cannot compare with her. —Proverbs 3:15

Bible In One Year: Malachi 1-4

Advertisers are after our young people. They are increasingly targeting their messages to children. Because of the strong influence they have on the purchasing habits of their parents, and because they have an increasing buying power of their own, millions of dollars are being spent to get their attention. People in the advertising business are convinced that a young, satisfied consumer could become a lifelong customer—eager to buy their products far into the future.

In a similar way, we need to be influencing our young people to "buy into" the good things God has in store for them throughout all of life. According to Proverbs 3, some fantastic possibilities lie ahead for the young person who chooses God's way: long life and peace (v.2), favor in the sight of God and man (v.4), direction from God (v.6), health and strength (v.8), abundance (v.10), happiness (v.13). The person who trusts, honors, and fears the Lord finds wisdom—an incomparable prize (v.15).

The world spends millions convincing our children that they can't be happy without a certain kind of shoe. How much more we have to offer them by showing them that happiness comes by walking with God! —Dave Branon

We can help our precious children
Follow in God's way,
Living out our faith with gladness,
Praying every day. —Sper

What we leave in our children is more important than what we leave to them.

Come Follow Me...
- (Christmas - Do You Hear What I Hear?, Paul H. Dunn, 1987, pp 90- 91)

Once upon a time, there was a man who looked upon Christmas as a lot of humbug.

He wasn't a Scrooge. He was a very kind and decent person, generous to his family, upright in all his dealings with other men. But he didn't believe all that stuff about an incarnation which churches proclaim at Christmas. And he was too honest to pretend that he did.

"I am truly sorry to distress you," he told his wife, who was a faithful churchgoer, "but I simply cannot understand this claim that God became man. It doesn't make any sense to me."

On Christmas Eve, his wife and children went to church for the midnight service. He declined to accompany them. "I'd feel like a hypocrite," he explained. "I'd much rather stay at home. But I'll wait up for you."

Shortly after his family drove away in the car, snow began to fall. He went to the window and watched the flurries getting heavier and heavier.

"If we must have a Christmas," he reflected, "it's nice to have a white one."

He went back to his chair by the fireside and began to read his newspaper. A few minutes later, he was startled by a thudding sound. It was quickly followed by another, then another. He thought that someone must be throwing snow balls at his living room window.

When he went to the front door to investigate, he found a flock of birds huddled miserably in the snow. They had been caught in the storm, and in a desperate search for shelter had tried to fly through his window.

I can't let those poor creatures lie there and freeze, he thought. But how can I help them?

Then he remembered the barn where the children's pony was stabled. It would provide a warm shelter. He quickly put on his coat and galoshes and tramped through the deepening snow to the barn. He opened the doors wide and turned on the light. But the birds didn't come in.

Food will bring them in, he thought. So he hurried back to the house for bread crumbs, which he sprinkled on the snow to make a trail into the barn. To his dismay, the birds ignored the bread crumbs and continued to flop around helplessly in the snow. He tried shooing them into the barn by walking around and waving his arms. They scattered in every direction - except into the warm, lighted barn.

"They find me a strange and terrifying creature," he said to himself, "and I can't seem to think of any way to let them know they can trust me. If only I could be a bird myself for a few minutes, perhaps I could lead them to safety."

Just at that moment, the church bells began to ring. He stood silently for a while, listening to the bells pealing the glad tidings of Christmas. Then he sank to his knees in the snow.

"Now I understand," he whispered. "Now I see why you had to do it."

On Monday, it was grey and dreary. I had History and English P1.
On Tuesday it was nice and sunny. I had had English P2 and Chinese P1.
On Wednesday, it rained again. I had Literature P1 and Maths.
Today, it started off sunny and ended cold and windy. I had Science.

The past four days of exam.. my mind was startingly clear and refreshed. It certainly wasn't this way last year... I think I panicked. I guess the difference is that I can feel God nearer to me. If you read my previous blogspot@zenzizenzizenzic... I think you'd find me ranting and raving a way like a madwoman.

But I really want to praise the Lord for guiding me along, helping me, for all the blessings, for all the hard times, for all the prayers, and for all the comfort He has given me. The truth is refreshing and makes perfect sense, bringing comfort to my soul. And I want to thank all those who have prayed for me... It's just like a miracle.

For all the times when I felt like no one understood, or everyone was about to kill me, judge me, think I was a git... I poured out my heart to the Lord. God loves us, and He accepts us for who we really are, no matter good or bad. Because He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to die for us on the cross and saved us from our sins. Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life... that's why He has an unlimited amount of righteousness, what more being God in human form. That's why when we acknowledge ourselves as sinners and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we can be saved.

It's sort of like a bank transaction. We have all sinned, and we need a lot of that righteousness in our lives, our accounts. But Jesus has so much in His account, and by dying for us He put that righteousness into our accounts. But for the unbelievers, those accounts don't exist. If we do not have the faith or believe in it, it's not there. Only by trusting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, and applying His truth personally into your life... you'll have access to it (sort of). By acknowledging Him as your Saviour, you surrender the areas in your life to Him, and ask Him to make you the type of person you want to be.

But it is by grace that we have been saved, not faith alone. If we had faith but He had not the grace, it's no use. But God is Love and He is gracious, full of grace. In addition, you will not get into heaven just by doing good deeds or good works.
Ephesians 2:8-9
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast."

So why be good?
1 John 5:3 "This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,.."
Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."
Matthew 7:7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Thank you Father, for always being there for me. ")

Exam Day No. 1: English Paper 1 and History Paper.

Started off grey and dreary in the morning... luckily we didn't have to go downstairs to assemble, otherwise we'd have to crawl all the way up.

Just before the exam, 5 Christians including me gathered round for a prayer session... that really warmed my heart.. though it was quite a sight to see, it's really encouraging for the 5 of us. Plus a Lemon.

And it was amazing... the way my head was kept clear during the exam even though I felt quite flustered at not knowing how to write a report. Usually I get mental blocks, but today I didn't. Especially during the History paper. The History one lasted for 2h15mins.. pretty long time, at the end of which I felt exhausted. But I managed to finish all the questions! Except for 1 to which I couldn't think of the answer.

Verse of the week (or the day):
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

I Simply Live For You

Say the word and I will sing for You
Over oceans deep, I will follow
If each star was a song
And every breath of wind, praise
It would still fail by far to say
All my heart contains
I simply live, I simply live for You

Chorus:
As the glory of Your presence
Now fills this place
In worship, we will meet You face to face
There is nothing in this world
To which You can be compared
Glory on glory, praise upon praise

You bind the broken hearted
And save all my tears
By Your word, You set the captives free
There is nothing in this world
That You cannot do
I simply live, I simply live for You

Pour My Love On You
By Phillips, Craig & Dean
From the recording Let My Words Be Few

I don't know how to say exactly how I feel
And I can't begin to tell You what your love has meant
I'm lost for words
Is there a way to show the passion in my heart?
Can i express how truly great I think you are?
My dearest Friend
Lord, this is my desire
To pour my love on You

Like oil upon your feet
Like wine for you to drink
Like water from my heart
I pour my love on you
If Praise is like perfume
I'll lavish mine on You
Till every drop is gone
I'll pour my love on You

GEMS FOR YOUR DOWN MOMENTS

A Publication Of STEADFAST LOVE MINISTRIES EDITION 5

THE GLOOM AND THE BLOOM

I used to wonder why life presents us with so many difficult circumstances that we are almost choked up and drowned in our problems.

Why Is There So Much Darkness In This Life?

If there is a God why does he allow it?

As time passed by, the questions changed as my understanding deepened and as I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour.

Since there is a god, why does he allow so much problems and troubles to befall his people?

If the problems and storms of this life were limited to just those that do not acknowledge His presence; then I would reason that maybe they are just being punished for their insubordination; but How Do I Explain The Fact That Bad Things Happen To Good People ?

The fact that darkness seems to be prevailing in the lives of the people of the light.

But then the eyes of my understanding received an enlightening:the Lord opened my eyes to see and my heart to understand that
We will take for granted the bloom of light if we had not known the gloom of darkness.

Although now we are besieged on all sides by so many troubles and pains but that does not mean the father loves us less or that he has abandoned us.

I've come to understand that he knows our frame and exactly what it takes for us to get to where he is taking us. The fact that it is all Gloom now is only preparing us for A Life Of Bloom. The darkness that is seemingly prevailing over us presently will not actually prevail, it will make us appreciate the light better.

Do not lose focus , Keep the faith, The Gloom Of the Darkness Will be Replaced very soon By the Bloom Of The Light.

Poetic Gems

HERE COMES THE BLOOM

When besieged by life's storms

Darkness looms

And all you can see

Is gloom

When faced with life's troubles

You are rattled

Is this all there is?

You are baffled

When surrounded by darkness

And you can't see beyond the gloom

Hold on! The light at the corner looms

Here comes the bloom

The Gloom

Precedes the Bloom

Not that you may be doomed

But that you may treasure his BOOM

Countdown to Exams: 4 DAYS.

Meanwhile I'll just keep posting my favourite bible verses, or anything suitable for this stressed period.

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [1]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

This was written by an 8-year-old, Danny Dutton of Chula Vista, CA, for his third-grade homework assignment. The assignment was to explain God. Wonder if any of us could do as well?"

EXPLAIN GOD

One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grown-ups, just babies. I think because they are smaller and easier to make. That way He doesn't have to take up His valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and fathers.

God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime. God doesn't have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this.

God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting His time by going over your Mom and Dad's head asking for something they said you
couldn't have.

Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there are any in Chula Vista. At least there aren't any who come to our church.

Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work like walking on water and performing miracles and people finally got tired of Him preaching to them and they crucified Him. But He was good and kind, like His Father and He told His Father that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said "O.K."

His Dad (God) appreciated everything that He had done and all His hard work on earth so He told Him He didn't have to go out on the road anymore. He could stay in heaven. So He did. And now He helps His Dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones He can take care of Himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important. You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.

You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God. Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come
out at the beach until noon anyway.

If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're scared in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into
real deep water by big kids.

But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and He can take me back anytime He pleases. And...that's why I believe in God.
